Adrian Voss
Note: Session play notes recorded this character as “Andrew Voss,” but the canonical name is Adrian Voss per player confirmation. “Andrew” is listed as an alias for cross-reference.
Summary
CEO of Voss Dynamics, the defense contractor the PCs are assigned to. Named in press coverage as the head of the company that secured a federal contract to investigate the meteor.
In Session 01, Voss personally briefed the team in a second-floor conference room at the Voss Campus. He was measured and direct, explaining the emergence of super-powered individuals following the meteor event and showing the team surveillance footage of The Exploding Man — a young man who could detonate like a suicide bomber and survive. He introduced Major Jenkins and the Voss Combat Suit program, laid out the mission parameters for the Afghanistan capture operation, and mentioned two other known supers: The Dragon and The Regenerator.
He offered $100,000 per person as a bonus for the target’s live capture, on top of the team’s $250,000 annual salary and $50,000 signing advance.

- Motivations and goals beyond profit
- Personality and management style beyond “measured and direct”
Session 05 — Terra Briefing
In the pre-mission briefing, Voss revealed significant new intelligence about Terra:
- Terra was a civilization much like Earth that had been visited by meteors and gained powers
- Terra was then attacked by a massive flying space creature — described as something like a whale crossed with a squid
- The creature’s bones have been found on Terra’s surface — enormous, roughly 100 feet long
- The Terrans appear to have killed it by siphoning all their meteor-granted powers into a single individual, effectively creating something close to a god
- This is the working theory for how the Terrans defeated the creature
This revelation connects directly to the “Hungry God” folder discovered by Guy LeFleur in Session 04. If a similar creature is approaching Earth, Voss may be planning the same defence: channel all fragment powers into one individual.
Voss also briefed both teams on the North Atlantic fragment retrieval mission, deploying Team Jenkins for the shallow fragment and the PC team for the deeper ones.
Session 06 Update
Voss secured Patient Zero and the Regenerator at Voss Campus and agreed to help find a cure for the Regenerator’s reanimated wife. He also revealed a grave new threat: a world-ending entity — a former hero from another planet — will reach Earth in about one week.
Session 07 Update
Voss revealed that his scientists have cracked transferring power juice between individuals, a breakthrough inspired by Terra’s fate: all of Terra’s power was funneled into a single champion who defeated the entity but then took its place. Drawing the lesson, Voss decided to spread the power across the team rather than concentrate it in one champion. He sanctioned Sammy’s first power-juice dose at the obstacle course.
(Play notes refer to him as “Boss Voss” — same person.)
Session 08 Update — Intel Broker and Security Failures
Voss served as the team’s intelligence conduit this session, relaying the key strategic picture:
- The nature and history of The Hungry God, including Terra’s prior devouring and the entity’s host-jumping behaviour.
- The juice-transfer and extraction science — that juice can be drained from a host (via the Extraction Chair) to weaken the entity rather than killing it.
He oversaw the RD3 Facility interrogation of Miller, where he offered only performative objections to Ronnie’s torture of the prisoner — letting it proceed.
Critically, Voss was berated by the team for catastrophic security failures: he had lost track of scientists (the blackmailed, vanished Jimmy Johns) and failed to maintain an accurate juice-syringe inventory — Miller had swapped the entire facility stock for fakes undetected, hiding the real syringes under his bed. The breach exposed how thin Voss’s internal controls were.
Session 09 Update — The Man Who Held Time (and the New Boss)
[!note] Reconciled (Session 09): canon (past preserved, future changed). The possession and the rewritten “Voss Corporation” status quo both stand. The time-chakra itself is ruled a one-off plot device, not a reusable power (see
_World/_flags.md).
Voss proved to be far more than a corporate administrator. During the battle on the R&D third floor, the bodiless Jens — locked out of every other host — possessed Voss and found inside him a spinning “chakra” of raw, untapped power. To Jens’s spectral sight, Voss’s inner energy read as a bright open “lake” — vast, though less so than the “ocean” of the Brittanys. Spinning that chakra counterclockwise reversed time (The Timeline Rewind) — revealing Voss as the unwitting bearer of a campaign-altering temporal power whose origin he may not even know.
In the rewritten timeline that followed The Sacrifice on Terra, Voss is established as the head of the Voss Corporation — but now the company the team themselves run (Ronnie as CEO, Jens as Chairman, Guy as CFO, Sammy as Head of Marketing). His relationship to his former operators-turned-principals is undefined and a key reconcile question.
During the live combat he was also noted hiding behind a desk while the supernatural fight raged.
