Patient Zero
Summary
Patient Zero is the reanimated corpse of Jane Garcetti — wife of The Regenerator — and the origin point of the Los Angeles zombie plague (see Zombies). After Jane died in the multi-vehicle crash outside Flagstaff, Arizona (Session 05), the grief-stricken Regenerator used his healing powers in an attempt to resurrect her. She came back “wrong”: a feral, mindless undead rather than the woman he loved. Her reanimation seeded the outbreak that overran parts of Los Angeles.
She was brought to Voss Campus by The Dragon, alongside the Regenerator, and secured there by Adrian Voss.
Description
Outwardly the body of Jane Garcetti, but feral and hostile — an undead with no apparent surviving personality or recognition. Contained at the facility; treated as both a biohazard and a research subject.
Background
MAJOR CANON: Patient Zero is the reanimated Jane Garcetti, the Regenerator’s wife who died in the Flagstaff, AZ crash detailed in Session 05. The Regenerator’s attempt to bring her back is the direct cause of the zombie plague. He believes that another meteor fragment could cure her condition — restoring her properly rather than as the feral creature she has become.
