Power Juice

TL10

Current Holder: Adrian Voss

Origin: extracted from a captured powered individual

Summary

The campaign’s informal term for the transferable essence of meteor-fragment power. Adrian Voss’s scientists cracked the secret of transferring power juice between individuals — a major breakthrough distinct from raw Meteor Fragments.

Description

Power juice is a processed, transferable form of the energy that Meteor Fragments impart on direct contact. Unlike a raw fragment (single-use, unpredictable, hazardous on bare-skin contact), power juice is an extracted essence that can be administered deliberately. It was extracted from a powered individual captured in the Middle East — likely The Exploding Man — and is administered via syringe.

When administered to Sammy Castaneda, it granted a size-alteration power: Sammy can shrink or grow up to roughly 9 feet tall, with strength scaling proportionally to size. Growth is fatiguing.

Game Stats

  • Administered via syringe.
  • Observed effect (Sammy): size alteration (shrink/grow up to ~9 ft), strength scaling proportionally with size; growth is fatiguing.
  • Other administered effects not yet documented.

History

Voss’s scientists developed the extraction-and-transfer process and sourced the essence from a powered individual captured in the Middle East (likely The Exploding Man).

Strategically, Voss’s team chose to SPREAD power juice across multiple operators rather than concentrate it in a single champion. This was a deliberate lesson drawn from Terra, where all power was poured into one individual who defeated the world-ending entity but then took its place.

Session 08 Lore — Beacon, Weapon, and Theft

  • Interstellar beacon: Power juice acts as a beacon that draws The Hungry God toward powered planets. Concentrated power is what attracts the entity across the stars — which is why the most heavily juiced individual (see The Dragon, who carries two doses) is its prime feeding goal.
  • Weaponized via extraction: The juice can be used as a weapon through the extraction proceduredraining the entity of its power rather than killing it. Killing the entity is counterproductive: it simply jumps to a new host. Draining is the path to actually defeating it.
  • Redistribution plan: Per the prophetic blueprint, the team plans to redistribute the juice across members “in the right order” to execute the coming battle.
  • Miller’s theft resolved: Miller stole the facility’s entire syringe stock, replacing them all with fakes while hiding the real syringes under his bed (undetected due to poor inventory). The dose he self-injected at the Session 07 cliffhanger was drawn back out of him via the Extraction Chair after he was captured — confirming the Mysterious Syringe contained stolen Power Juice.

  • [Session 08 - Earth’s Last Stand](…/chapters/Chapter 1 - The Hungry God/Sessions/session-08-earths-last-stand.html) — Revealed as an interstellar beacon drawing The Hungry God to powered planets; usable as a weapon via the Extraction Chair to drain (not kill) the entity; team plans to redistribute juice “in the right order” per the prophetic blueprint; Miller’s mass theft (real syringes hidden under his bed, replaced with fakes) confirmed and his self-injected dose extracted back out.
