The Battle of Medieval Times

Summary

While on leave and without their power suits, the PC team was caught in a sudden giant-insect attack at Medieval Times in Las Vegas. Roughly 33 nine-foot insects swarmed civilians in the parking lot. The team improvised a defense, was reinforced by Brittany’s clones and the venue’s costumed knights, and finished the fight once a crash-landing “ball of power suits” delivered their gear and Team Jenkins. The swarm was wiped out.

Details

The fight began at the end of [Session 05 - Deep Sea Fragments and Desert Swarms](…/chapters/Chapter 1 - The Hungry God/Sessions/session-05-deep-sea-fragments-and-desert-swarms.html) and resolved in [Session 06 - Vegas Vacation, Zombie Vexation](…/chapters/Chapter 1 - The Hungry God/Sessions/session-06-vegas-vacation-zombie-vexation.html). The team was on a 48-hour pass, out of armor, when the insects erupted into the Medieval Times parking lot and began attacking civilians.

Improvising with whatever was at hand:

• Guy commandeered a Lexus and used it as a battering ram against the insects.
• Ronnie shot insects through the central eye and collapsed one with a directed burst of his energy-drain power.
• Sammy fired explosive rounds into the swarm.
• Jens threw frag grenades.

They were aided by Brittany’s clones and by Medieval Times knights in armor — one of them revealed to be Gordon Ramsay. Mid-battle, a “ball of power suits” crash-landed carrying Jenkins, Miller, and Thompson, along with the PCs’ suits. The impact, however, tore open fresh holes in the ground from which more bugs emerged. With the team re-suited, the combined forces destroyed the remainder of the swarm.
