Summary
The S.C. Johnson Scientists are a team of insecticide researchers from the company S.C. Johnson, brought in (via Voss Dynamics) to develop chemical weapons against the alien insects. They supplied three experimental concoctions (labeled A, B, and C), and also served as entomology advisors — the play notes call them “etymologists” — helping the team identify the optimal drill point into the hive.
This is an NPC group entry. One member of the team was killed in a chemical accident.
Description
A civilian-scientist contractor team specializing in insecticides and applied entomology. Individual members are not named in play; tracked here as a group. They operate in support/lab roles rather than as combatants.
Background
Engaged to weaponize insecticide chemistry against the alien insect threat, the team produced three experimental formulas:
- Concoction A
- Concoction B — ~95% kill over 4 rounds on its own
- Concoction C
A blend of B and A — Concoction BA — proved the most effective field agent, achieving roughly 75% immediate kill. They also acted as entomology advisors, helping the team determine the optimal drill point into the hive.
Casualty: One scientist was killed in a catastrophic chemical accident — a critical failure during a refinement test. His face melted.
