Summary
The Insurgent Cave Complex is a network of caverns hidden within the Afghan Mountains, serving as a Taliban insurgent stronghold and training base. The complex was a primary target of Session 01 - Operation Living Bomb, where the team was tasked with capturing The Exploding Man. The facility demonstrates sophisticated use of natural terrain for military purposes, with multiple entrances, defensive positions, and prepared defensive lines.
The surrounding terrain presents significant hazards, including a minefield marked with red paint on rocks that provides both protection and containment for the insurgent base. Sentries are posted on the mountainside to provide early warning and defense against approaching forces. The complex’s layout—including its elevation changes and internal chambers—presents complex tactical challenges for any assault operation.
